Kaptein Beacon is the controller of personal data collected through this website. Contact: through the form on the strategy session page. We are based in the Netherlands, so the EU General Data Protection Regulation applies to us; for visitors and clients in the United Kingdom we also follow the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
What we collect
When you use the application form, we collect your name, email address, company and the details you choose to add: website, phone, service, budget range, timing and your message. Our web server also records technical data such as your IP address for security and abuse prevention.
Why we use it and on what basis
- To respond to your application and schedule a strategy session: steps taken at your request before a possible contract.
- To keep the website secure and prevent abuse: legitimate interests.
- To meet legal record-keeping obligations if we enter into an agreement: legal obligation.
Where it is stored and for how long
Your data is processed by us and by our hosting and email providers within the European Union. The UK recognises the EU as providing adequate protection for personal data. Applications that do not lead to a project are deleted no later than twelve months after our last contact. Business records are kept as long as the law requires.

Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or erase your data, restrict or object to its use, or receive a copy, through the form on the strategy session page. We respond within one month. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) in the UK or the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
