SEO and web design for UK firms that compete on quality

Kaptein Beacon is a founder-led SEO agency and web design studio that also handles AI search optimisation, branding and business coaching. We take on a small number of UK companies at a time: owners and directors who would rather invest once in a strong foundation than keep paying for quick fixes.

The ten points we score every website on

Every review and every audit uses the same ten criteria, so you can see where your site stands today and what to fix first.

  1. Technical foundation & indexingCan search engines reach, render and index the pages that matter?
  2. Speed & Core Web VitalsDoes the site load quickly and respond smoothly on an ordinary phone and connection?
  3. Mobile experienceAre menus, forms and text as easy to use on a phone as on a desktop?
  4. Keyword & content coverageIs there a strong page for each question your buyers actually search for?
  5. Local & international visibilityDo you appear in the towns, regions and countries where your customers are?
  6. Authority & backlinksDo credible, relevant sites in your field link to you?
  7. Trust & E-E-A-TCan a visitor see who is behind the business and why they should believe you?
  8. Conversion & user flowDoes each page lead naturally to an enquiry, a booking or a sale?
  9. Brand & positioningDoes a visitor grasp in seconds what you do, for whom, and why you rather than a competitor?
  10. AI visibilityDo AI assistants and Google's AI Overviews mention you as a source or a provider?

How a project with us begins

There is no free discovery call. Instead you get a proper conversation with the founder, after which we decide whether we are the right studio for you. We do not take on every company that applies.

  1. ApplyA short application: your company, your ambition and why the timing matters now.
  2. ReviewWe read every application ourselves and tell you within two working days whether a conversation makes sense.
  3. Strategy sessionFifty minutes online with the founder about your ambition, your market and whether we fit.
  4. ProposalIf we decide to take the project on, you receive a proposal with a fixed scope and a fixed price.

What you will not get from us

A good deal of the SEO and marketing industry runs on promises nobody can keep. These are the ones we leave out.

Guaranteed rankings

Google decides what it shows. A promise of position one is a sales line, not a plan.

Bought links or fake reviews

Shortcuts like these break Google's spam policies and put the domain you have built at risk.

Near-identical town pages

We only write a local page when there is something genuinely local to say about that place.

Frequently asked questions

What kind of UK companies does Kaptein Beacon work with?

Owner-led and director-led UK companies that compete on quality rather than price: professional firms, private clinics, estate agents, B2B companies, trades and online brands. We keep our client list short on purpose, so every project has the founder's attention from the first conversation to the results we measure afterwards.

You are based in the Netherlands. How does that work for a UK business?

We work remotely with UK companies and have no UK office. The Netherlands is one hour ahead of the UK, so calls fit easily into your working day. We research each UK market separately, with British search terms, spelling and competitors, and we take account of UK context such as UK GDPR and local search in your towns.

Why do you charge for the first conversation?

Free calls tend to become sales pitches. Our strategy session is a paid professional conversation of 50 minutes with the founder for £225 excl. VAT. It means we spend our time with owners who are serious about their plans, and you get a conversation at the level of your business rather than a script.

Will you guarantee a first-page ranking on Google?

No, and no honest SEO agency can. Google and AI search tools decide what they show. What we do is put the technical foundation, content, authority and trust signals in order, and tell you plainly what is realistic in your market and how long it is likely to take.

How much does a project cost?

We do not publish project prices, because scope varies too much: number of pages, content, integrations, markets and how competitive your sector is. After the strategy session, if we take the project on, you receive a proposal with a fixed scope and a fixed price before any work starts.
