What we believe
A website is not a campaign that ends when the budget runs out. It is closer to a building: it needs sound foundations, a sensible plan and steady maintenance, and it should still be earning its keep years from now. That is why we start with the groundwork: technical health, a clear structure, content that answers real questions and a brand people trust.
We work for owners and directors who accept that good work costs good money and who would rather do it properly once than start again every few years. We are not the studio for the cheapest quote, and we say so openly.
Led by the founder
Kaptein Beacon is led by its founder, who is involved in the strategy of every project. You will not be handed from one account manager to the next.
That is the main reason we keep our client list short. It leaves room to understand a business properly, to think before building and to tell a client plainly when an idea will not work. You can see how that plays out in practice in how we work.
What we do
The disciplines we offer belong together. A handsome website that nobody finds achieves little, and traffic to a weak brand does not convert. Most clients start with one of our SEO services, a web design project or work with our branding agency, and we keep the rest in view from day one.
| Service | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Websites and ecommerce | A fast, accessible site that earns trust and leads visitors to an enquiry or a sale |
| SEO | Consistent visibility in Google for the searches that matter to your business |
| AI SEO | Being found, named and cited in AI answers and Google's AI Overviews |
| Branding | Positioning and identity that show why you are the right choice |
| PPC and digital marketing | Paid search and other channels, with sound tracking and landing pages that convert |
| Business coaching | A sparring partner for founders on direction, decisions and growth |
Our own brands as a proving ground
We build and run our own brands too, so we test every method on our own sites first. If something does not hold up there, we do not recommend it to a client.
It keeps us honest. We know what it is like to wait for a new page to be indexed, and we see at first hand what Google and AI search tools reward and what they ignore.
Why we are called Beacon
A beacon is a guiding light. Like a lighthouse on the coast, it does three things: it shows the way, it can be seen from a distance and it stays put while the weather changes around it.
Those are the three things we aim to give clients. Guidance in a market full of contradictory advice. Visibility to the people already looking for what you offer. And a steady course when the next algorithm update or marketing fashion arrives.
A Netherlands-based studio working with UK companies
We are based in the Netherlands and work remotely with companies in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. We have no UK office. The Netherlands is one hour ahead of the UK, so calls sit comfortably inside your working day, and we work with written summaries and shared documents so nothing depends on being in the same room.
We treat the UK as a market in its own right, not a copy of another one. That means British search terms and spelling, UK competitors in your sector, and context such as UK GDPR, the ICO's guidance on cookies, accessibility expectations and local search in the towns and cities you serve.
Lines we do not cross
Some tactics deliver a short-term bump and a long-term problem. We do not use them:
- No ranking guarantees. Only Google decides its results.
- No fake reviews or invented case studies. Trust is built on what is real.
- No bought links. Links bought to manipulate rankings breach Google's spam policies.
- No doorway pages. No batches of near-identical town pages that exist only to rank.
- No claimed partner badges or awards that we cannot back up.
If you would like to find out whether we are the right fit, the first step is a strategy session.
